Göteborg

Lovely city-trip to Göteborg (also known as Gothenburg), following my Tiveden adventure!

For city trips I decided to go for a different format than the diary-based ones for my outdoor adventures. I’ll start with a little gallery to give you an impression of the city and then wrap it up with tips&recommendations from my side.
Enjoy! :)

Recommended activities:

  1. Walk eastwards from the station and have a bubble-tea while enjoying the harbour and ‘Lilla Bommen’, the ‘Lipstick’. The opera is also right there!
  2. Take a daytrip to the Archipelagos and have a nice dip!

Best places to eat:

  1. Sjöbaren Haga - really good price-value during lunchtimes
  2. Cà Phê - best Vietnamese food
  3. Mahagony - cozy Espresso bar with fresh Italian coffee

Unique shops:

  1. PACS - shop for a good purpose
  2. Haga Ett - a cool Hippie shop
  3. THRIVE - consious fashion

Little hiking adventure, Skatås-> Stensjön

I hiked the second stage of the ‘Södra Bohuslän Trail’ (also: first stage of ‘Signaturled Södra Bohuslän’). It’s 8,2km long and it took me around 2h to hike. The trail starts next to a camping/outdoor activities area and then follows allong the curves of the lake ‘Stora Delsjön’. Beautiful, easy-going hike with posssibilities for a quick dip or rowing adventures!

Göteborg, thanks for having me!

My tips/thoughts:

I find it awkward to go forth and back between hiking and city-touring. Firstly, I end up carrying too many things on trail, as I need different things fo a nice city-tour (e.g.smaller bag, camera equipment,…). Secondly, I tend to be quite disappointed to go back to ‘trail-food’ once I had a nice, fresh meal. I recommend to have the hike first and then finish the trip off with a nice stay in a city - if you want to combine both! :)

Until next time!
Love, Karin
